What is Wrong with Facebook

Facebook went offline for numerous users on Thursday, with the globe's most prominent social media informing individuals that "something went wrong".

When going to Facebook.com, rather than seeing the regular homescreen or information feed, customers were welcomed with a blank display and a brief mistake message.

" Sorry, something failed. We're working with it and we'll get it taken care of as soon as we can," the message reads.

The outage started at around 5.30 pm BST however, for the majority of users, appeared to have been resolved around 20 mins after.

Down Detector, which collects reports of prominent services being down, displayed failures in the UK, Europe and the United States.

Of course, individuals took to Twitter to have their say.

The site decreased on Thursday afternoon and brief-ly appeared to function once more for some individuals.

A representative for Facebook has said they are checking into what took place.

At The Same Time, Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook chief executive, was at an event put on by Oculus, the virtual reality headset business Facebook owns.
