Sorry something Went Wrong Facebook Error

Facebook went offline for lots of users on Thursday, with the world's most prominent social media telling customers that "something failed".

When seeing Facebook.com, as opposed to seeing the normal homescreen or information feed, users were greeted with a blank screen and a short mistake message.

The outage began at around 5.30 pm BST yet, for most users, showed up to have been solved around 20 mins after.

Down Detector, which collects reports of preferred services being down, displayed failures in the UK, Europe and the United States.
