What is Wrong with Facebook tonight

Facebook went offline for several users on Thursday, with the world's most preferred social media network informing users that "something failed".

When visiting Facebook.com, rather than seeing the typical homescreen or news feed, users were welcomed with a blank screen as well as a short mistake message.

" Sorry, something went wrong. We're working with it and we'll get it taken care of as quickly as we can," the message reviews.

The interruption started at around 5.30 pm BST but, for most users, appeared to have been solved around 20 minutes after.

Down Detector, which looks at reports of popular solutions being down, showed outages in the UK, Europe and the US.

Of course, people took to Twitter to have their say.

The web site decreased on Thursday afternoon and brief-ly showed up to work once more for some users.

A spokesperson for Facebook has claimed they are considering what happened.

On The Other Hand, Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook chief executive, went to an occasion put on by Oculus, the virtual reality headset firm Facebook owns.
