Facebook Disabled My Account
Deactivated Facebook Account
Envision my surprise when I tried to sign right into Facebook one early morning only to receive the complying with message:
My account was disabled? What does that even indicate?
I attempted to log in with another internet browser and I got the exact same message. Facebook handicapped my account!
Facebook provided a type entry page for those wishing to contact Facebook regarding their handicapped account, and also I emailed them essentially asking why my account was disabled as well as exactly how I can obtain gain access to back to the numerous web pages I'm an admin for. I clarified that I handle a range of pages for clients, and was always mindful about the content I published-- besides, my moms and dads get on Facebook as well.
After sending the e-mail to Facebook, I sent an e-mail to the buddies that's email addresses I actually had and clarified what took place. Thanks to the connect-ability of Facebook, the majority of my friends were only able to be contacted by me on Facebook.
The replies I obtained from that email were identified into 3 different groups:
- WTF/WTH-- why would certainly they do that ??
- Is it due to the fact that you posted political stuff (I like Ron Paul as well as shared content about #OWS).
- Maybe someone flagged you.
I check out several of the articles by others that have had their accounts impaired to learn why my own was all of a sudden pulled-- without alerting I should include. The posting dates on the posts extend the lifetime of Facebook, revealing that the company has actually forever been on a behind-the-scenes project of disabling accounts at their discernment.
I found some write-ups by popular blog writers or reporters, including Roger Ebert, Robert Scoble, and also Stan Shroeder (Mashable). Much of these high-profiled Facebook individuals had their profiles and/or web pages reabled soon after Facebook discovered that they disabled. For the rest of us, we're generally on our very own.
Reviewing these articles really did not infuse much hope in me or my situation. The understanding of what I lost was starting to set in as well.
For many years I had computer systems collision, taken, lost, etc. and depend on Facebook to host all my traveling and also celebration photos. The web site isn't going anywhere anytime quickly, so why not publish all my photos on Facebook for my friends as well as household to check out at their discretion? There were well over 2000 pictures, countless videos, blog posts (notes), plus all the calls (I still haven't been able to reconnect with several that were all lost when Facebook handicapped my account). This was seeming an extremely grim scenario as I even more recognized simply what was lost.
I needed to reclaim access to Facebook to handle the web pages for my customers, as well as also for my own ventures. A number of my web pages' admin accessibility were shown a companion as well as were conveniently set back up with the new Facebook account I begrudgingly produced, cursing Facebook under my breath as I set up the brand-new account.
A few of the Facebook pages admin gain access to were shown to my customers, whom I had to contact to have them re-add me with my brand-new account. All of them asked "Why did your account get disabled?" as well as rightfully so. I, also, would certainly question the individual I paid to manage my Facebook web page why their Facebook account was disabled. Would not you?
I still don't have a solution to that question. "I have no idea" is the solution I still provide, since its true. Facebook has still yet to provide me a reason why my account was disabled. After reading the reasons Facebook handicapped accounts on their web page I was still at night. I didn't spam-add people, article sex-related web content, pester anyone. so why they deleted me didn't make sense. Only after I review various other articles did I comprehend a little bit a lot more.
Facebook can disable your account if your display name is different than that on your birth certificate. Mine was, however not by a lot. It was still phonetically the exact same, but spelled various than the remainder of my family. I also had a customer that just recently made use of a competition promo to raise their e-mail checklist. According to Facebook marketing standards, competitions can only be run on Facebook through one of two apps: ShortStack and also WildFire. Could that be why my account was disabled? I examined that client's Facebook web page and it was gone as well. Aha!
Although the contest had not been precisely hosted on Facebook (it was hosted on the client's site), and also the victor was informed via e-mail (you can not reveal winners on your wall surface), I was confident this was the annoying action which had me ushered off Facebook without even a 'Au revoir'.
Now it was about a week given that I at first wrote Facebook that fateful morning, and also I still had not obtained a reply. I took another look at the web page allowing me to call Facebook, and discussed that I now had a much better suggestion regarding why they disabled me, and that I was sorry. I vowed never to do something like that again (was it actually that bad??) if they simply reable my account.
I sent that off and waited once again. After a few more days I recognized something. something extremely important-- I created a filter in gmail for Facebook e-mails. Even if they did email me, I would certainly have never obtained the e-mail since it was set to "Avoid Inbox/Delete". Harsh.
So I sent another email to Facebook, this time letting them understand that I had a filter on my gmail as well as if they did contact me prior to this e-mail, I would certainly have never ever obtained it.
A few days later I lastly obtained an e-mail from Javier at Facebook. Below's the only reaction I'll likely get from Facebook:.
Hi,
Unfortunately, your account has been permanently disabled for violating Facebook’s Terms. We will not reactivate it for any reason.
This will be our last email regarding your account. For more information about our policies, please read the Facebook Community Standards: https://www.facebook.com/communitystandards/
Thanks,
Javier

What an adolescent reaction-- sure Facebook is a 'young' business, but I'm sure there should be somebody there with far better tact than 'we're not going to reable your account-- don't email us once more.' ALRIGHT Facebook.
So what did I gain from my experience with Facebook?
1. Back up your account! You never ever understand if/when they'll make a decision to delete you.
2. Don't handle your different customer's pages with the same account. If one page/account obtains removed, you won't shed them all.
3. A lot of my friends are pretenders who's accounts are either hidden from search, or they disabled the "Add as a close friend" switch making it impossible to re-add them.
Its had to do with a month given that I had my account impaired, and also had great deals of time to review the experience. I have not tried to speak to Facebook directly since I got the e-mail from Javier, however I did begin the web site www.facebook-disabled-my-account.org, as well as the hashtag campaign on Twitter #FBdisabledMe to draw attention to the negative experience.
Do I want Facebook to transform their disabling policy? Nope.
I manage a couple of MU websites as well as if you desire somebody off your website, by all means delete them/block them/whatever. But for Facebook to disable the account and to maintain the data/photos/videos/ connections/blog posts, that is wrong. What would certainly Facebook be if no one uploaded material onto the site-- No images to share or tag-- No articles to Like-- No status updates to LOL at-- It would be NOTHING.
Facebook ought to allow those that they disabled to download their account, letting them obtain their photos/videos/notes/ and so on, before going off to the barren wastelands of Google+, or to RT their pals status updates (as opposed to 'Liking' it). Facebook currently makes it possible for an energetic account to be downloaded and install, so why not a disabled account?
It's time for Facebook to obtain a bit more mature in this field-- especially with their IPO announced. I'm really taking into consideration buying stock so they will certainly need to pay attention to my grievance-- at the very least I'll profit from them.
Have you had your Facebook account handicapped? Did you get it back, and if so just how?
